TopBraid Data Platform
Highly available continuous operation
Clustered Deployment of TopBraid EDG
The TopBraid Data Platform provides high availability TopBraid servers for continuous operation of business functions by replicating data across a cluster of servers. Each server is up-to-date and can respond to any operation request. Fitting into standard enterprise environments, users and applications can access and change data even if some of the servers are offline.
This availability is achieved by having a cluster of TopBraid EDG servers each with a complete and up-to-date copy of the data. As illustrated in the figure below, changes made at one server are transparently propagated to all the other servers through a Data Coordinator server.
Servers can be added and removed from the cluster at any time to adjust for performance needs, for planned maintenance and for replacement due to unplanned outage. When a new server joins the cluster, it is brought up-to-date before it starts servicing user/application requests. Each server keeps a local, persistent cache of application data so that subsequent start-up only involves applying changes missed by that server.
Data Coordinator can also be used to continuously publish changes from all or selected asset collections in EDG to TopBraid Explorer.
