TOPBRAID EDG ADD-ON MODULES
Can be added to any EDG package to allow a tailored approach to information governance
Data Graphs and Custom Collections
Data governance today has to address all of the ever increasing types of data and the diverse contexts in which it is created and used. A key design goal for TopBraid EDG is to support the full diversity of data governance needs. Though it comes with hundreds of built-in data asset types, the “Data Graphs” add-on module provides additional flexibility and capability to support this diversity. It consists of two capabilities:
1. Users can create Graphs containing any information – based on ontologies of their choice.
These types of collections are called Data Graphs and require no application development to start using them. The only requirement is to have an Ontology in EDG that defines schema for the graph.
2. Power Users and Developers can define new types of Asset Collections.
For example, you may choose to create a “Master Data” collection type or “Infrastructure Assets” collection type. Some application development may be required to creating new features for the new collection types. New collection types are expected to be “backed by” and associated with some ontology.
TopBraid Explorer lets a broader community of data stakeholders explore information governed by TopBraid EDG. TopBraid EDG users can publish asset information for use in Explorer. TopBraid Explorer users can search across all published information, view it and can create comments for data stewards. TopBraid Explorer is installed on a separate server for scalable access by people and APIs.
TopBraid Tagger and AutoClassifier™
TopBraid Tagger and AutoClassifier™ links controlled vocabulary terms to content. Content resources can be tagged manually or auto-tagged using Tagger’s AutoClassifier capabilities. Users can then review the results of auto-tagging. This module adds to the EDG-VM package additional assets collection types: Content Tag Sets and Content Corpora. The auto-classification is expected to be installed on a separate server.
TopBraid Data Platform
The TopBraid Data Platform provides high availability TopBraid servers for continuous operation of business functions by replicating data across a cluster of servers.
