Node Shapes Panel

The Node Shapes Panel is part of TopBraid’s support for the SHACL ontology modeling and constraint validation language. It can be used to display and edit the available node shapes for the current asset collection.

Node shapes are similar to classes, yet are never directly used as type (rdf:type) of any assets. Instead, they can be regarded as an alternative viewpoint on certain assets, defining what properties are relevant for certain assets, and what constraints those properties need to fulfill.

Toolbar Features

  • New is available in Ontologies only, since other asset collections cannot declare shapes or classes. It opens a Create Node Shape Dialog allowing you to create a new node shape.

  • Quick search can be used to navigate to a given node shape based on its label.

When the setting to display IDs instead of labels has been activated, it supports navigation by qnames.

Settings

  • Display IDs instead of labels toggles between human-friendly labels and machine-friendly qnames.
