.. _LayoutsButton: Layouts Button -------------- The Layouts Button provides access to the available arrangements of :ref:`EditorPanels`. The :ref:`Editor` supports a flexible layout in which users are able to open, close and rearrange individual panels. Use the :ref:`PanelsButton` to open new panels, or the Layouts button to replace all panels with a pre-defined arrangement. .. note:: The layout is typically stored between browser sessions for each asset collection, but the system only uses the browser's local storage to remember the panel placement. This means that layouts will be lost when that local storage is cleared, or when you move to another machine or browser. Use the **Available Layouts...** button to get details about the layouts that are suitable in the current asset collection. In that dialog you can also delete layouts that you have previously created. Use **Save Current Layout** to persist the current layout to the TopBraid server, so that you or others can activate it later. Under **Switch to Layout** you find a list of available layouts. This list is initially populated with some suggested, pre-defined layouts. .. hint:: If the pre-defined layouts ever get lost, e.g. by accident, an administrator can restore them using the :ref:`LayoutsAdminPage`. **See Also** * :ref:`LayoutsAdminPage` * :ref:`PanelsButton` **Further Reading on TopBraid** * :ref:`introduction`
